A driver converts mains voltage (240V AC) to 12V DC. Our range of efficient kitchen lights run on a low voltage, this conserves energy without compromising on brightness. Every light that we sell has a Colour Wattage rating. For example, if you have a light rated at 2.6W and you have 3 of them, your total Colour Wattage consumption would be 7.8W. To put this simply, your drivers Colour Wattage rating must be equal to or greater than 7.8W in order for this to work (pulling through more watts than a driver is rated to will cause the driver to blow). We know that this can sound a little tricky so in order to save you the hassle of working this out, all our light kits include a driver that is specifically designed to work safely and efficiently with your chosen lights. What is a port on the driver? Each driver has a certain number of ports. For example, we sell a 3 port and a 6 port driver in a variety of Colour Wattage s. 1 light will take up 1 port on a driver. If you require 4 lights, you would need a driver with 6 ports as there would not be enough free ports on a 3 port driver. Again, you don't need to worry about this as we have hand crafted all kits with the correct driver, simply select how many lights you require. If you want more lights than are available in our kits, you can either buy another light and driver kit (this gives you the option of having different lights on different switches) or we also sell drivers with different numbers of ports (please search our shop or get in touch for any advice). How to Mount? These lights are designed to be surface mounted under/inside a cabinet. First things first, decide on a position for the lights to be installed and drill a small hole (10mm) for the fittings cable to be fed through. Thanks to the mounting bracket of the light, you can cover up the hole you drill with the light when it is installed. This hides all cables and ensures a modern finish. dia The bracket fixes to the chosen surface via 2x fixing screws (supplied). Once fixed to your cabinet, the magnetic bezel then snaps into place over the top hiding the screws. Now connect the lights to the driver, one light per port. Each light has a 2m long cable that connects to the driver but this sometimes isn t long enough for your install. If not, we also sell a 2m and 5m extension cable, perfect for longer runs...
