 
 
    
Shut the box is a classic parlour game, fun for every generation. The game is one of a few traditional ways to develop mathematical skills for kids. Take along on long trips or to the pub to keep yourself occupied or use at parties or during a lunch break. A game of shut the box can have several rounds. Every player participates in each round. Open the flaps for each player to start their turn. The player throws the 2 dice and closes the coinciding flap or flaps. Use the sum of the die total die count or just of one to close the flaps. Lets say, you have thrown a 5 and 2, so you will be able to either close the 5 and 2, the 6 and 1, the 3 and 4, or the 2, 4 and 1. If the remaining flap is a number smaller than 6 then you can continue with one die. The flaps still open at the end of the game need to be subtracted from the total of all still open flaps.
